Our Principles

The Humanists of Florida Association envisions itself as an agent of change in human society, promoting a continuous advancement toward a more democratic, civilized and compassionate world. We conduct our activities according to these three principles:

Reason -- We depend on reason, critical thinking, and scientific inquiry to guide us in making decisions about social and government policy.

Compassion -- We care about all humans and seek to protect and secure their basic human rights and freedom to pursue happiness and self-determination.

Action -- Reason and compassion compel us to make a difference in the world, taking responsibility for advancing our vision of society.
