HFA works hard to create an environment where people may actively and openly practice their humanist life stance, by providing support and services to Humanist communities that embodies the key Humanist principles of “Reason and Compassion in Action.” Successful integration of our philosophies into society requires the creation of communities with common goals and interests.

Participating in a local Humanist group is the best way to stay connected and promote Humanism in Florida. (In addition to being a member of the Humanists of Florida Association of course.)

Here you will find information Humanist groups active in the state of Florida. If you cannot find a group near you, why not consider starting one. We can help train you and provide you with support and names of individuals in your area to get you started.

There are also 43 UU groups (Unitarian Universalists) in the state. While these are considered religious congregations, many have Humanist special interest groups to participate in. To locate a UU group - visit http://www.uua.org/

Our goal is to create a more enlightened and civil society by engaging people in rational and respectful conversations about the important issues of our time. We feel that it is not enough to simply hold a Humanist philosophy.  We are compelled to act on our values and principles to strive toward our vision of a better human society. In this section you will find training materials and information on how HFA can help you become a more effective advocate for Humanism.
