American values not
just for
conservatives.
The recent
election has put the discussion of moral values at center stage.
But what are traditional American values? What are the values held
by the so-called “moral vote?” Is there a conflict? How do the
values of the left and right differ and is there any middle ground
on which they can meet?
A careful
examination of American values through history will surprise as it
demonstrates that there is much more that unites Americans than
divides their political parties. Somehow, the concept of values has
come to be seen as belonging to only some Americans. But all people
have values, and many value systems have commonalities and excellent
qualities. The speaker can address the common strains to American
values and how some organizations embody those.
